Illinois Teen Accused of Savagely Killing Pregnant Mom Shows Zero Remorse

Illinois Teen Accused of Savagely Killing Pregnant Mom Shows Zero Remorse

Brutal Illinois Slaying Shocks Community as Teen Suspect Shows Chilling Lack of Remorse

A horrifying crime in suburban Illinois has left a young mother and her unborn child dead — and stunned residents are now grappling with disturbing footage showing the accused killer appearing calm and even attempting to sleep in the back of a police cruiser.

Nedas Revuckas, 19, has pleaded not guilty to the savage killing of 30-year-old Eliza Morales and her five-month-old unborn child on January 26 in Downers Grove, a suburb of Chicago. Prosecutors allege that Revuckas stabbed Morales more than 70 times inside her own apartment before setting the residence on fire. During the brutal assault, he is also accused of stabbing the family’s dog between the eyes.

The shocking attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a used pickup truck purchased through Facebook Marketplace. Authorities say Revuckas was dissatisfied with the condition of a red 1994 Ford Ranger he bought from Morales and her husband for $1,600.

Marketplace Dispute Turns Deadly

According to prosecutors, Revuckas arranged to meet Morales at the couple’s apartment building to return the license plates and obtain a bill of sale. Surveillance footage captured Morales meeting him outside and at one point handing him a screwdriver.

Approximately five minutes later, cameras showed Revuckas walking into the building with the screwdriver concealed behind his back. Video evidence reportedly captured the apartment door opening and closing during what investigators described as a violent struggle unfolding inside.

What happened next has shaken the community to its core. Morales, a pregnant mother preparing to welcome new life into the world, was allegedly stabbed repeatedly in her own home. Prosecutors say Revuckas then set the apartment ablaze in an apparent attempt to cover up the crime.

Bodycam Footage Raises Eyebrows

Hours after the attack, police arrived at Revuckas’ residence. Body camera footage shows the 19-year-old speaking calmly with officers. He did not appear agitated or afraid.

At first, Revuckas denied entering Morales’ apartment beyond the dining room table.

“I didn’t go past the dining room table,” he told officers, hands on his hips.

Prosecutors say he later confessed to carrying out the killings.

In the footage, Revuckas allegedly downplayed the situation, stating the truck had been “somewhat” working fine. He claimed he was unaware any fire had been set and suggested that the family dog “was fine,” describing the pet as sitting quietly in the corner.

But perhaps the most chilling moment came after his arrest. Video from inside a police vehicle shows Revuckas seated in the back seat, appearing drowsy and detached from the gravity of the charges he now faces.

“Are you able to tell me what this is about?” he asked officers at one point.

Moments later, he reportedly propped his feet up and tried to nap as he was being transported to jail — a display many see as a stunning lack of remorse following such an unspeakable act.

Serious Charges Filed

Revuckas now faces an extensive list of felony charges, including:

  • First-degree murder
  • Intentional homicide of an unborn child
  • Armed robbery
  • Arson
  • Animal cruelty

The case adds to growing concerns about violent crime in and around Chicago, where too many families have already paid the ultimate price. For the Morales family, what began as a routine online transaction turned into an unthinkable nightmare.

As this case moves through the courts, one thing is clear: a young mother and her unborn baby lost their lives in a shocking act of violence that has left a grieving family and a rattled community demanding justice.

At Wake Up America News, we will continue to follow this tragic case and stand firmly for law, order, and justice for innocent victims.
